Americans In Space: The Concept
What would twelve ordinary Americans do to save the republic? What would they sacrifice? What would they forget?
"What happens if you light a flame inside a closed vacuum?"
As a way to promote my work, I am releasing some teaser concepts from my upcoming graphic novel Americans in Space. Set amidst a 23rd century expansion of humankind across the Milky Way, Americans features the following characters and setting among several others.
All of the following concept images were generated using the Midjourney Beta. Please note these concepts are not final and therefore are subject to change before the work is published.

TARZAN
“The American Man” "King of the Apes" and "Lord of the Jungle" Leader of the crew in charge of inspecting Perpetual Union for a communications failure. Believes strongly in self-determination and the power the rugged individual. Often seen wearing a cowboy hat.
KLEPTER
"The Monkey" An intelligent chimpanzee
who acts as a lead scientist with specializations in flight control and orbital trigonometry. Knowing, wise, and loving. Someone who understands the longevity of the human race and seeks to preserve it.

JANE
"The Blonde Woman", A brave female engineer and computer scientist in charge of systems management. A pioneer; full of strength and full of heart. Apprentice to Klepter, who is acting as her adopted mentor during this critical and expensive mission.

THE TRILLIONAIRE
A brilliant man who is master and CEO of Saturnus, the parent company of Perpetual Union and a million other space stations just like it. On board with Tarzan's team to personally oversee the mission due to the public relations concerns surrounding the events of the story.

THE FILMMAKER
An idiot abroad in the Milky Way, hired directly by The Trillionaire to document his life and times over the course of his career, including the events of this mission. Loves popcorn, hates people. Always looking for his next fix or fancy in the film industry.
THE SPACE STATION KNOWN AS "PERPETUAL UNION"
A spacious but antiquated space station, considered exceptional for its unusual lifetime in orbit. Perpetual Union has recently and unexpectedly ceased communication with the rest of the intergalactic network, prompting an emergency inspection from a local team of professionals who are known for their work. The team's goal with the mission is singular, however; they don't want to fix the station, they want to get home as fast as possible.

THE HELLSCAPE PLANET OF "CRA-VHOST"
An awful planet of acid rain and sulphur seas. A place where no life could be presumed to live because of its apparent in-hospitability. Perpetual Union floats solitary above Cra-Vhost, alone as a gateway between realms familiar to us and the myriad realms beyond.
